Project 365

So, I started another blog...I know, how many do I need? But I'm really excited about this one. I don't know how many of you have heard of "project 365", but the basic concept is simple: Take a picture everyday and post it. I think the original idea was to take just any picture, but I'm tweaking it just a little bit so that every picture represents one of my daily joys. I'm not good about writing in a journal everyday, but I do take pictures everyday, and a picture is worth a thousand words, right? Well, the plan is at the end of the year to publish the blog into a book, and that will be my photo journal for the year.
I only have two days done so far, but feel free to check it out by clicking here, or by clicking on the "project 365: daily joys" button on the sidebar.

Ha!!

Did anyone else pick Western Kentucky to beat Illinois? I didn't think so. My bracket would be doing really well if VCU had only managed to beat UCLA...oh well, I almost got that one right too.
Oh how I love March Madness!!!

Scary?

Yesterday it was really, really nice outside. I let the boys play out in the backyard (which happens to be one of my favorite features of this house) and I brought out my camera to practice with my new lens that I got for Christmas. Ethan cracks me up. He loves to have his picture taken, and pulls all kinds of faces...like the one in this picture. Now, I really like this picture of Ethan because it shows who he is: a little goofball. But, I also think if you didn't know Ethan (or maybe even if you do), this is kind of a scary picture. What do you think, does it say "demon child" to you?

It's Exciting

So, last week I sold my first fine art photograph to a non-relative. "Tulips". The one pictured above. I am very, very excited about it...especially since I got to sign and date the back like a real artist. Or should I say, like the real artist I am (he he) :)
Well, the print came from the printer today, and it looks amazing (even if I do say so myself), and Lado (the guy who packaged it up for shipping, apparently) even included a watermelon blowpop. A blowpop!! I LOVE those things. It has been way too long since I had one, and I'm very excited about it.
Brett (my older brother) and I used to save our dimes (literally, because that's how much they used to cost) and buy them at Frys - our local grocery store. Oh, the memories.
You should all go get a blowpop today and celebrate with me.

Project for Today

**Please don't forget to check out the post below this one!** I'm doing a give-away, so leave a comment so you can get something. I'll even tweak the rules so that you don't have to have a blog to get something. I know more than three people read my blog, and I'm starting to feel unloved, so comment! (please) :)

So, this is the project the boys and I did today: We made animals out of pipe-cleaners. I acutally got this idea while looking around in Wal*Mart. They sell little kits that show you how to do these, but they're a little pricey. I decided to just buy the pipe-cleaners and figure out how to do it on my own. It was lots of fun, and the boys love them.

This Looked Like Fun!

I saw this on my sister-in-law's (Lisa) blog, and it looked like a lot of fun, so here goes:

My First Blog Giveaway...The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me. My choice. For you. (I know...a little scary, but maybe fun, huh?)
This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like it .

2- What I create will be just for you.

3- It'll be done by the end of March.

4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a loaf of homemade bread. It may be a bag, a card, an apron. It may be a book, a scarf, a poem. I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did it will then win a Fabulous homemade something made by me! Ready, Set,....GO!!!
