They Get So Big So Fast!

Matthew graduated from kindergarten!! He had such a fabulous year - he loved absolutely everything about school. And his teacher was phenomenal. For graduation, they sang songs and recited little poems that they've been learning all year. Then, his teacher showed a slide show that she put together with pictures that she'd taken of them from throughout the year. I helped out with one of their fieldtrips, so I even made it into the show. Sweet!

Singing my favorite song "I Decided". It rocks. It's about saying no to drinking, drugs, violence, and crime. Good job Matthew! Here's hoping you're teacher's pet next year, too :)
Thanks for coming Great Grandpa Hays!

The Chicken Dance

Matthew's elementary school puts on a dance festival at the end of every school year. Each grade prepares a dance and presents it. the kindergarteners did the chicken dance.

This is Matthew with his best friend, Thomas. I think it's funny that Matthew is one of the shortest kids in his class, and Thomas is one of the tallest.

Wrestling With Daddy

They all love to wrestle with their Dad...

...even Natalie!

Natalie's First Barrette

She's getting so big!

Meeting Cosmo

A few weeks before we moved, James went to Walmart to pick up some more cleaning supplies. After he was done shopping, he saw Cosmo (BYU's mascot and the boys' hero) doing a fundraiser for Primary Children's Hospital. James came back home and we packed up the boys to go meet Cosmo. The boys are obsessed with Cosmo and BYU sports, so I was happy that they finally had a chance to meet him before we left. I hadn't planned on being in the picture - I was in the middle of deep cleaning the kitchen and hadn't showered yet....hehe. But Justin wouldn't go near Cosmo without me. :)

Cosmo signed autographs for them.

Then the boys got their faces painted.

Funny Talk

(After learning about the Godhead in Primary)
Poking my arm.
Ethan: "Mom, is this your flesh?"

************************************************

(After James accidentally hit the 8-ball into one of the pockets)
Matthew: "You're like the all-star of losing, Dad."

************************************************

(We were playing a game, and he was trying to describe someone to me)
Ethan: "Um, it's a he, and he has really long legs...and arms. Like really, really, really long legs and arms...like out to here."
(It was uncle Brett H.)

***********************************************
(Justin walked up to me with only one card in his hand)
Justin: "Pick a card, any card."
I picked the card he was holding - remember he was only holding one.
Justin: "Now give it back to me."
Turning over the card to show me.
Justin: "Is this your card?"

Job Hunting

stinks. Being a finalist doesn't amount to much when the other person has 10+ years of experience. We can't compete with that. Just when we think we've sunk as low as we can, the bottom falls out, and we plummet again. Finding a job seems impossible. When does it end?
